I look forward to welcoming you at Dunvegan View....
Built in 1921/1922 by John Morrison (my late grandfather),
the original croft house was extended in the 1950s and has now been
fully refurbished to give high standards of comfort and 4 star quality Bed & Breakfast accommodation.
(This picture was taken in the 1940s)
The house is in a beautiful rural location, providing luxury Bed
& Breakfast in a magnificent and tranquil setting looking out across
the Minch to the Isle of Skye from an elevated position 30 meters
from the road and only 100 meters from the seashore.
Dunvegan View is the name chosen because the view we have is across the
Minch to the entrance to Loch Dunvegan and MacLeod's Table.
Come to see our regular visitors to the bay in front of the croft house. The tranquil bay attracts much wildlife
including otters swimming around and jumping up on the rocks to eat their catch; seals basking in the
sunshine on the rocks; or the many species of birds we have around the croft. See our page listing birds around the area.
This bird was spotted on Harris in April 2006.
We know what it is...if you know, come and tell us.
Residents
of Harris preserve a vibrant heritage of Gaelic traditions and culture.
The Gaelic language is in daily use at work and in many homes, including
my own.
"I hope your stay
with us is memorable and that you join the growing number of returning
guests.
'Ceud Mile Failte'."
